When a picture freezes, the cause sits in one of two places: somewhere between our servers and your broadband provider, or somewhere inside your home. Moa Tv works on the first, and this page gives you a quick way to rule out the second.

What happens on our side

  • Viewers are spread across capacity. A big match draws a crowd, so audiences are balanced rather than piled onto one server.
  • Popular channels have fallback sources. If one source has a problem, the channel can switch to another instead of going dark.
  • Peak hours get the closest attention. Weekend evenings and major events put the most pressure on streams, and that’s when they are monitored most carefully.

A five-minute check at home

CheckWhy it helps
Plug in a network cable, or move to 5 GHz Wi-Fi near the routerA wired link is the biggest single improvement for live TV; 5 GHz is faster but shorter-range than 2.4 GHz
Restart the streaming deviceSticks and boxes run low on memory after days without a restart
Pause big downloads, game updates and cloud backupsThey compete with the stream for the same connection
Raise the buffer in TiviMate: Settings → Playback → Buffer sizeA larger reserve rides out short dips in speed
Try the Full HD entry instead of 4KIt needs far less bandwidth on a busy evening

If only one channel misbehaves while the rest play perfectly, the problem is almost certainly with that channel’s source, not your home. Tell us and we’ll check it.

For a longer walk through every cause, read why Moa Tv stops or freezes.

Reporting a stream problem

A support ticket gets the quickest answer when it includes the channel name, your device, the time it happened and the result of a speed test run on the TV or streaming device itself. With those four details we can see whether the issue was the stream, the route to your provider or the network at home.

Stable streaming questions

Can Moa Tv promise a stream will never pause?

No service honestly can, because your broadband provider and your home network are part of the chain. What we can do is keep our side well run, and help you find the cause when something goes wrong.

Does a bigger buffer delay live sport?

A little. The stream runs a few extra seconds behind live in return for fewer pauses. Most people don’t notice unless they’re following live score alerts.

Is Wi-Fi good enough for Moa Tv?

Often, yes, especially on 5 GHz within sight of the router. For big matches a cable is still the safest choice.
