Apple devices don’t run TiviMate, so Moa Tv uses a different App Store app on them, and our email names the one we currently suggest. After sign-in you’ll have live TV, listings and the film and series sections; allow five minutes or so.
iPhone and iPad
- Download the suggested app through the App Store.
- Launch it and find where you add a playlist, user or sign-in; the label varies.
- For the type, choose Xtream Codes (sometimes listed as a server or API login).
- Open My subscription in Safari, copy the server, username and password, and paste them in.
- Save. Shortly afterwards, channels, the TV guide and the catalogue appear.
Apple TV
- On the Apple TV itself, get the same app from its App Store.
- Start it and pick the option for a new playlist or sign-in.
- Where a QR code is offered, point the iPhone camera at it and fill in the details on the phone; a long server address is tedious with the Siri Remote.
- Save, then give the list a moment to load.
On an Apple TV 4K, switch on both options under Settings → Video and Audio → Match Content, and use a network cable for big matches if your model has a socket.
Getting more from the player
- Check that the guide is switched on in the player’s settings; some apps leave it off at first.
- Try catch-up if the player supports it; the catch-up page explains how archives work.
- Drop the quality away from Wi-Fi, then raise it again at home.
Troubleshooting
| What happens | What to check |
|---|---|
| “Login failed” | Re-copy the server address: it needs the http:// start and any port number, and no trailing space |
| No channels at all | Confirm My subscription says active, then reload the list in the app |
| No programme listings | Reload the listings within the app and look at the time zone setting |
Apple install questions
Does the player cost anything?
Plenty are free, with optional paid extras. Any upgrade you choose is paid to its maker; Moa Tv doesn’t receive it.
Which sign-in type is best?
Xtream Codes, whenever it’s on offer. Keep the M3U address as a fallback for apps that lack it.
Can I just AirPlay from my iPhone?
You can, but a player running on the Apple TV itself is smoother for an evening of live TV.
